Prayer

Prayer is how we connect to God!

The Bible tells us to "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing,

give thanks in all circumstances,

for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (I Thessalonians 5: 16-18)

We here at Main Street United Methodist Church are a praying people.

Breakthrough Prayer

We pray this prayer on Sunday during worship,

before meetings, before meals,

and in our homes.

We're asking God to "break through" and

make a difference in our church.

For all the possibilities ahead in this new year...make us thankful, O Lord. Give us wisdom, courage, and understanding in the face of so much chaos, despair, and fear. Help us to see how we can contribute toward peace, faith, and love; and give us the will to translate our desires into actions. Amen.

Our prayer team makes sure we keep prayer

a focus of our life together.

You might see them walking through the

church building on a prayer walk,

on the way to pray with a particular ministry

that is their prayer focus for the month.
